Chateau Avant is a brand operated by ThunderBear Fulfilment LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit chateauavant.com or sign up for our email and SMS programs, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to deliver our products and communications.
- Information you give us directly. When you submit our signup form, we collect your email address and, if you choose to provide one, your mobile phone number.
- Consent records. When you sign up for SMS, we record the exact opt-in text shown to you at the time of consent, the timestamp, the page you submitted from, and the IP address and user agent of the device you used. This is required by law to prove valid consent.
- Basic site usage information. Our hosting provider may log standard request data (IP address, browser type, referring page) for security and abuse prevention.
How we use your information
- To deliver the welcome message and discount code you signed up to receive.
- To send occasional marketing emails and SMS about new products, restocks, and offers, only if you opted in.
- To respond to questions or support requests you send us.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms.
- To comply with legal obligations, including SMS consent record-keeping required by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and carrier rules.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share, rent, or trade your information with third parties for their own marketing.
Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent information are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Phone numbers are used solely to send messages from the Chateau Avant SMS program you opted into.
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the site and the SMS and email programs (for example, our hosting provider Vercel, our database provider Supabase, and our SMS delivery provider Twilio), and only the minimum data each provider needs to perform its service. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we direct.
We may also disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Chateau Avant, our customers, or the public.
How we protect your information
We store subscriber data in encrypted-at-rest databases, accessed over TLS. Access is restricted to authorized operators on a need-to-know basis. Service-provider API keys are stored in encrypted environment variables and are never committed to public code repositories.
How long we keep your information
We keep your contact information for as long as you remain subscribed, plus the four-year period required by law for SMS consent records after you unsubscribe. You can request earlier deletion by contacting us, except where retention is required by law.
Your choices
- Email: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
- SMS: reply STOP to any Chateau Avant text message at any time to immediately opt out. Reply HELP for help. Standard message and data rates may apply.
- Access, correction, or deletion: email us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Chateau Avant is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on our site.
